Worship Services

We are committed to worship experiences which communicate our own enthusiasm about Christ in our lives as well as His willingness to enrich our lives through the Holy Spirit. Worship is highlighted by music and preaching based on scripture.

It is an exciting time at VFUMC!  Note that on January 31, in addition to our two existing traditional services, we will offer a new Praise & Worship service:

FUEL

"Fully United Exalting the Lord"

In Leviticus 6:12-13 God made explicit instructions that a fire be kept burning on the altar,
saying “it must never go out.”  Fuel for the fire was always necessary. 
To that end, we hope that this service becomes a means to keep our praises
going for the Lord our God. He alone is worthy of our worship! 

With the addition of this service, we will have more ways for people to encounter Jesus Christ in worship.   Our new worship schedule is as follows beginning January 31, 2010:

8:30am – Traditional worship in the sanctuary
9:00am – FUEL - Praise and Worship in the Activity Center
11:00 am – Traditional worship in the sanctuary

We also have a Sunday evening service at 6:30 PM.    Once a month everyone will meet jointly (Adults and Youth) in the Activity Center at 6:30 PM for worship.  Our youth will lead the service.  

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered at all morning worship services on the first Sunday of each month, and on other special days.

A nursery is available during all worship services for children up to three years old.   Children's Church is held during the 8:30 and 11:00 AM services for children ages 3 through second grade.  Bring your children with you to the sanctuary for these services; after a brief children's message, they will be escorted to Children's Church.    During the 9:00 FUEL service, a program for pre-school and kindergarten ages only will be available; please bring your children to the children's hall prior to the service.
