BISHOP’S HOUR IN DUBLIN
We are so thankful for the excellent spiritual leadership of Bishop James King. As part of his oversight of The United Methodist Church in South Georgia, he will be visiting each district this fall for a time of worship and teaching. The Bishop's Hour for the Dublin District will be held at Pine Forest UMC in Dublin on September 12 at 4:00pm. We will be taking the church bus to participate in what will surely be an inspiring time. If you would like to ride with the group, please meet in the back parking lot at 2:45pm.
Police and Fire Department Appreciation Day – Sunday, September 12
Mark your calendars for this special time to honor our local law enforcement and fire service personnel. We will be inviting those who put their lives at risk for us each day (Vidalia Police, Toombs County Sheriff’s Dept, and Vidalia Fire Department) to be with us in worship at the 11:00 am service. We have the opportunity to share our appreciation for the jobs they do. In addition, we want to invite you to “adopt” an officer or fireman to be a prayer partner throughout the year. In the same way they need to be covered when entering a dangerous situation, we want them to be covered with prayer. Please be in worship for this special day and participate in this project for our everyday heroes.
YOUTH & CHILDREN’S CHOIRS
Our first choir practices will resume the Sunday (Sept. 12th) after Labor Day weekend for Youth Choir from 3:30-4:30, and Monday (Sept. 13th) for all the Children’s Choirs. Sign up sheets will be in the office and narthex from now until choirs resume. Early sign up will help with planning and getting things ready.
We will be happy to pick your child up from the Vidalia City Schools if you fill out and return the form to Debbie Davis or Connie Brown in the church office by Friday noon, September 10.
DISCIPLE STUDY
The Disciple Study will begin in mid September 2010. It will be offered on a Sunday afternoon/evening.
